Medical Missions for Children (MMC) provides catastrophically ill children in 
developing countries and rural America with the medical operations and 
procedures they need to survive and lead productive lives. We do this in three 
ways:

1.	We send medical specialists to the children (Medical Missions).
2.	We airlift children to the US for surgery or treatment (Airlift Program).
3.	We use telemedicine to empower local doctors and hospitals to help the 
                 children (Telemedicine Network).

The MMC Telemedicine Network connects children’s hospitals in developing 
countries and rural America to specialists and major hospitals in the United St
ates.  
Even in today’s world, many of these seriously ill children exceed the care giv
ing 
capability of their community or country.  In many serious cases, the children 
are 
misdiagnosed and receive the wrong treatment.  This is estimated to happen at 
least 50% of the time. 

With the MMC Telemedicine Network, we are using technology to provide 
diagnostic support, consultation with specialists, introduction of new procedur
es 
and pharmaceuticals, and access to medical databases.  The objective is to  rai
se 
the level of care in each hospital and actually empower the less fortunate to h
elp 
themselves.  Working in partnership with the United Nations, we anticipate bein
g 
able to help thousands of special children each year.
