Switzerland has only 3 official languages (that is: German, French and
Although it is true that Reto-Romansch is used to label banknotes (and
passports), official documents are not required to have included a Romansch

Nevertheless, I found that quite a lot has been accomplished in Switzerland in
order to preserve Romansch language and culture.

Well, in the European languages this is much easier:
In Dutch: To a man or woman	: Ik hou van jou (Originally: Ik houd van jou)
To more people : Ik hou(d) van jullie.

In Italian:	To a man or woman	: Ti amo
To more people : Vi amo

In French:	To a man or woman	: Je t'aime
To more people : Je vous aime (if I'm not mistaken)

In German:	To a man or woman	: Ich liebe dich
To more people : Ich liebe euch

Good luck, whatever your intensions are!

Csak egy kör erejéig én még visszatérnék erre a kérdésre.

Az angol szótáram aszongya:
deportation - removal (of unwanted person) to another country.

Irtad korábban:
>hatszazezer magyar allampolgar halalbakuldeset

A Horthy rendszer nem deportáltatott, hanem internált. (Ez sem
szép dolog, persze.) A deportáláshoz meg kellett szállni az or-
szágot a németeknek. A deportálást nem a magyar állam, hanem
a német állam hajtatta végre.

Jó kérdés. Én megnéztem az első részt, éppen otthon voltam. Az alap-
ján a müsor nem virtuális kávézó, csupán a címe az. Biztos frappáns-
nak találták a kifejezést, gondolták jó cím lesz.

Mr "Andras Szucs", nee Pellionisz, champion of free speech, and noted
authority on ethics, offers the services of his siliconvalley.com site
for gatewaying to Usenet. Advertising such a splendid service on the
very newsgroup to be gatewayed is the kind of loony idea you would expect
from the febrile mind of the good Doctor. By definition, everyone
reading the ad already has access to this newsgroup.

Dr Pellionisz has hit on a brilliant idea but, as usual, he seems to be a
little slow off the mark. This sort of service has been available on the
Net for many years, from sites far more professionally managed than the
infamous siliconvalley.com with its snot-green web pages and dangling links
pointing to nowhere in particular. The most reliable Usenet gateway used
to be cs.utexas.edu. Unfortunately, it was shut down a while ago to
protect Usenet from net.spammers using AOL trial accounts to flood
thousands of newsgroups. A technique not unfamiliar to the folks at

For those interested in posting to Usenet via Internet e-mail, a place to
look for a reasonably complete list of email-to-Usenet gateway sites is
<http://students.cs.byu.edu/~don/mail2news.html>;. Using these sites
is simplicity itself. For example, if "Andras Szucs" is in the mood
to post one of his rants to alt.clueless, he can send his opus to
>. Piece of cake. No need to reinvent
the wheel.

The one amusing thing about the good Doctor's belated discovery is the
name of his gateway. You might think the name "..."
might be a bit of an overkill for such a pedestrian enterprise, but you
would be wrong. He could just as easily have called it something like
but that would have been pretentious.
