The film A tanu is easily and relatively cheaply obtainable. Its English
title is The Witness, and of course it was directed by Peter (not Bela
Bacso). Soemone must have been thinking of Bela Balazs, whose 1946-47
Valahol Europaban (Somewhere in Europe) would be a world classic -- if it
were available with sub-titles. The firms FACETS (Chicago) and European
Videos (somewhere in CA) handle The Witness. Their address is not in front
of me, but if there is an interest for this, I will soon display it. BTW,
don't expect much: The
translation is weak, the jokes seldom make sense. A much better piece is Te
rongyos elet (Oh Bloody Life). Available as above.
